Swanage Poets are a happy bunch. We meet regularly to share our poems and to talk about poetry generally.
The idea is for each person to contribute a couple of pieces which are read, discussed and mildly critiqued (mostly encouraged) by the others.
We welcome a variety of poetic styles—everyone has their own voice. Works can range in style, length and content, covering humour, observation of the world, personal experience and soul searching which makes for lively debate. We also read from established poets, because we want to keep on learning.
We are always happy to see new members. Whether you’ve just recently written a few poems, or whether you’ve been writing for years, you’re most welcome.
Why not come and join us?
Since COVID we’ve been meeting via Zoom on the first Monday of the month from 6.30 pm. Details are available at Purbeck New Wave Gallery, opposite Swanage Library.
And with the warmer weather we’ve begun meeting outdoors again, which some poets prefer. Details are available at the gallery.
